Job Title
Boards Warehouse Controller
Report To:
Branch Manager
Purpose:
Manage the entire boards warehouse by maintaining standard operating procedures to ensure that the warehouse is stocked and packed correctly and that stock maintenance is adhered to.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Implementing all standard operating procedures adopted by the company
- Planning and dispatching of completed orders to customers
- Receiving of stock from suppliers and other branches
- Ensure all paperwork is correctly completed when receiving and dispatching stock
- Confirming and verification of full boards dispatched- checking if physical boards dispatched is the same as the picking slip request
- Ensure all paperwork is correctly completed when dispacthing stock to customers and other departments
- Maintain picking slips and file management
- Do stock counts as required (quarterly and at financial year end)
- Check stock levels in operating warehouse and ensure replenishment - Ensure that Stock Control Sheets are updated correctly
- Do daily cycle counts and check variances
- Action the transfer of stock from bulk warehouses to selling warehouses
- Planning overtime as required by the business
- Resolution of customer queries
- Ensure cleanliness, hygiene and housekeeping of the warehouse area, both inside and outside
- Management of staff requirements including logging of overtime and incentives
- Ensure staff comply to health and saftey regulations and enforce use of PPE.
- Assisting in Production Department as requested by the Branch Manager
- SMS Portal - Notify customers when orders are ready for collection
- Dispatching of full boards to customers against customer invoice and picking slip
- Receiving cut and edge orders from production and inspecting quality and accuracy.
- Dispatching of cut and edge orders received from production
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
- Computer Literate in google apps, and MS office (excel, word)
- Ability to motivate staff and create a positive environment
- Experience in the wood working industry
- Experience in a warehouse environment
- Management of people - min 15 people in a shift
- Ability to work shifts and different hours as required
- Must be able to work under pressure
- Understand the impact of stock control & management
Education and Qualification:
- Grade 12 Qualification or equivalent
- Minimum 2 years experience in warehouse management and stock control
- Experience in the wood working industry will be advantageous
Mandatory Requirements:
- min 12 months experience in staff management in a warehouse environment
- Computer literate
- Grade 12 Qualification or equivalent
- Ability to read and write
- Good physical health.
