Job Title

Boards Warehouse Controller

Report To:

Branch Manager

Purpose:

Manage the entire boards warehouse by maintaining standard operating procedures to ensure that the warehouse is stocked and packed correctly and that stock maintenance is adhered to.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Management of staff requirements including logging of overtime and incentives
• Ensure staff comply to health and saftey regulations and enforce use of PPE.
• Planning and dispatching of orders
• Receiving of stock from suppliers and other branches
• Customer liaison and resolution of complaints
• Dispatching stock from Warehouse 19 – checking the condition of the boards
• Confirming and verification of full boards dispatched- checking if physical boards dispatched is the same as the picking slip request
• Maintain file management system and picking slips to follow on a minute by minute basis
• Do stock counts as required (quarterly and at financial year end)
• Check stock levels in operating warehouse and ensure replenishment
• Do daily cycle counts
• Respond to general enquiries
• Planning overtime as required by the business
• Computer literacy
• Use and follow standard operating procedures
• Product knowledge, especially knowledge of new product and trends
• Time management

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

• Computer Literate in google apps, and MS office (excel, word)
• Ability to motivate staff and create a positive environment
• Experience in the wood working industry
• Experience in a warehouse environment
• Management of people - min 15 people in a shift
• Ability to work shifts and different hours as required

Education and Qualification:

• Grade 12 Qualification or equivalent
• Warehousing experience will be advantageous

Mandatory Requirements:

• min 12 months experience in staff management in a warehouse environment
• Computer literate
• Grade 12 Qualification or equivalent
• Ability to read and write
• Good physical health.
